BLACK CURRENT

I took the ferry to Dandyville
The captain said
I couldn’t carry
my feral heart onboard
So I drank a potion of rules
just to fit in their school

Deep black current
Give me a chance
to set you free
Draws me nearer

Steering for merry sweet isles of thrill
where many men
hope for a cherry
to escape life in toil
So they sat up scotch and smoke rings
just to keep the devils safe

From the horizon you sent me a dream
It smelled like fear You had to try some
but when you go astray
on some yellow brick road like this
I will lead you back home

Time, Takes time
To settle down
To keep the peace
You need to
hold your own
